Once there was a baseball team so bad they struggled to finish the season in last place.

Team spirit was not to blame. The boys all seemed to get along just fine.

Even the team owner and the coach appeared to have a good rapport.

In spite of this, unable to score, at least on the field, the team's worth could only be considered a debit.

With a new season about to begin, the fate of the mighty switch hitters was, to say the least, gloomy.
